Role overview

Introduction to the role:
The successful candidate will be a member of the Commercial Dispute Resolution team, reporting to Amanda Burge. The team act for a broad range of clients in relation to complex litigation both in the UK and internationally, helping them tackle disputes effectively. The successful candidate will assist with a varied caseload from inception to conclusion. Whilst primarily based in the London Office we would expect you to assist clients from across the offices of the firm. Introduction to the team:
The Commercial Dispute Resolution team in London covers a wide breadth of commercial litigation and arbitration work. The team is currently comprised of 3 Partners, 4 Senior Associates, 1 Associate, 1 Trainee and 2 Paralegals.
Individually they all have a broad range of experience across both general Commercial dispute work and various individuals in the team also carry out more specialist work, including in relation to construction, engineering and IT disputes.

Key responsibilities:

Client liaison in person, in writing and over the telephone Communicate with clients, litigants in person, solicitors, counsel, courts and all other interested parties Drafting and proofing documents Instructing Counsel and experts Preparation of reports to clients Negotiation Business development including preparation of articles and insights Undertake appropriate additional tasks provided by the other members of the team

What are we looking for:

Important criteria:Qualified Solicitor or equivalent Experience of and an interest in general Commercial Litigation Disputes Able to work as a team player assisting across the team as well as being able to work independently Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships internally and externally Hard working and professional Demonstrates an understanding of clients' needs/expectations to meet client protocols/agreed service levels Excellent organisational and time management skills including ability to plan and prioritise work appropriately so that deadlines are met Excellent attention to detail Adheres to guidelines, procedures and ethics Demonstrates the firm's values
It would be beneficial for you to have some of the following:Experience in one or more of the following areas: contract disputes, warranty claims, shareholder disputes, professional negligence, fraud claims. Record of contributing to team business development and developing internal and external relationships to generate opportunities.
