Essential Qualifications & Registration
Bachelor's degree in Dental Surgery (BDS or DDS/DMD)
Valid registration with the relevant dental board:
UK: General Dental Council (GDC)
Completion of foundation training or residency (where applicable)
Experience
Preferably 4-6 years of clinical experience (new graduates may be considered for junior roles)
Experience in general dentistry including examinations, fillings, extractions, root canals, and preventive care
Familiarity with NHS/private dental care systems (UK-specific)
Skills
Excellent clinical skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage anxious or nervous patients
Team player with a collaborative approach
Time management and organizational ability
Compliance & Legal
Up-to-date DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check (UK)
Indemnity insurance (e.g. with Dental Protection, MDDUS, etc.)
Up-to-date CPD (Continuing Professional Development) in line with regulatory requirements
Right to work in the country
Desirable (but not essential)
Additional qualifications in cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, or implants
Experience using dental software (e.g. SOE/Exact, Dentally, R4)
Ability to speak multiple languages (especially in diverse patient communities)
