Job Description

Enara Bio's purpose is to shine a light on unconventional T cell targets to develop cancer immunotherapies designed to provide lasting benefit for broad patient populations. Our proprietary EDAPT platform enables us to discover a novel and differentiated class of cancer-specific targets from the genomic dark matter, which we call Dark Antigens. We are pioneering approaches to exploit these Dark Antigen targets with a range of immunotherapeutic modalities, including bispecific T-cell engagers, adoptive cell therapies and cancer vaccines.


Enara Bio was founded in 2016 and has been well funded to invest in the build out and growth of our R&D efforts and our fantastic team. The company is based in Oxford, UK.

Role Overview




Enara Bio is seeking an experienced Facilities and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) professional to provide leadership and competent advice to ensure an engaging, safe, healthy and comfortable working environment. Reporting to the VP, Head of Business Operations, this role will lead a team of 3 to work closely with key stakeholders, and engage with all staff, to optimise Enara Bio's overall Facilities & EHS strategy and ensure timely implementation of required measures. The role will oversee the overall facility requirements (including lab operations) to support the ongoing growth of the company.


The successful candidate will have proven experience in developing and fostering a strong EHS culture and be comfortable operating in a fast paced, high growth life sciences environment.


Key Responsibilities

:


Working closely with the Enara Bio leadership team, functional teams and program/project leads, you will oversee and lead all aspects of EHS to ensure compliance across the organisation. Assess Enara Bio's ongoing EHS needs, adapting and evolving long term strategy as needed to support the company, and providing thought leadership and competent advice Champion and inspire a strong culture of EHS across the organisation Ensure ongoing implementation, integration and compliance with applicable EHS policies, procedures, systems and audit/inspections Maintain Enara Bio's EHS policy, to ensure ongoing best practice, compliance with applicable laws/regulations, and effective risk management, especially in relation to biological safety, COSHH, Radiation, GMO and HTA/biological samples Oversee and deliver EHS related employee on- and off-boarding procedures, SOPs/policies, procedures and guidance, ongoing workplace training/learning requirements, and effective management of any related third party/outsourced providers Oversee day-to-day facilities operations across office and laboratory spaces, ensuring a safe, functional, and compliant environment for all staff Partner with functional and operational leads to evaluate current and future space, capacity and operational requirements in line with EHS requirements Evaluate, plan and execute required activities to maintain company facilities in full compliance with terms of lease/licence and all applicable laws & regulations Serve as the primary liaison with the Oxford Science Park property management team, coordinating lease compliance, building services, and shared infrastructure issues Manage preventive maintenance and service contracts for critical lab systems (e.g., HVAC, compressed gas, water purification) in alignment with industry standards Lead space planning efforts in collaboration with cross-functional teams to support evolving business and scientific needs Develop and manage facilities and EHS budgets, capital planning, and vendor relationships to support operational excellence and cost efficiency Support business continuity and emergency preparedness planning, including incident response coordination within the shared building environment

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

required



Relevant EHS qualifications / accreditation and experience (NEBSOH Diploma or equivalent) Demonstrable / proven experience overseeing EHS in a management role, in a biotech/life science or regulated healthcare business environment Fully conversant with relevant legislation (including but not limited to) biological safety, GMOs, COSHH, ionizing radiation, Human Tissue Act Ability to work cross-functionally, with matrixed teams, maintaining strong relationships with functional business partners Experience in dealing with industry regulators i.e. Health & Safety Executive, Environment Agency etc. Strong leadership skills and executive presence; ability to positively influence outcomes Strong interpersonal and communication skills Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills Demonstrated willingness to take a hands-on approach and adapt to changing priorities with a pragmatic mindset Experience working in global life science or healthcare setting
