Santander are looking for an Associate Director to join our Financial Sponsors team based in Manchester.
As an integral member of the Financial Sponsors business, you will also be part of the wider Structured & Specialist Finance Group which sits within Santander Corporate & Commercial Banking ('CCB').
Financial Sponsors focus is primarily debt-led, delivering bespoke funding solutions to Private Equity owned businesses, mainly for complex and event-driven opportunities, across both new and existing CCB clients.
The difference you'll make:
Structuring complex funding solutions, including detailed financial modelling, reviewing due diligence reports, modelling / negotiating financial covenants.
Displaying appropriate technical, legal and credit / debt structuring and risk skills, and being able to apply them across a wide range of sub sectors and borrowers.
Forming and maintaining relationships with management teams and KBIs to win new business introductions both as part of a Deal Team and independently.
Understanding of all deal administration processes and the ability to manage these with minimal supervision.
Proficient use of risk identification & mitigation techniques and work within approved credit processes and appetite frameworks.
People management responsibilities for Early in Career population and Associates.
Take responsibility for key strategic initiatives / projects within the team and / or wider Structured & Specialist Finance.
What you'll bring:
Established technical skills encompassing credit analysis and financial modelling.
Relevant experience in a Structured Finance or Corporate Finance environment.
It would also be nice for you to have:
Accountancy qualifications or similar are preferred, but not essential.
Origination skills and the capability to build a network.
Experience of stakeholder management with the ability to consistently work to tight deadlines and project manage numerous workstreams.
Understanding of, and ideally experience in, negotiating legal documentation.
What else you need to know:
This role is primarily based at our Manchester (Landmark) office.

To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in the office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).

Eligible for a discretionary performance-related annual bonus.
