Job Description



General/Position Summary



The Associate Director, Logistics & Distribution participates in established global supply networks, fostering cross functional relationships and integrating activities both within and outside the organization. They manage a team focused on Logistics and other tasks related to the movement of goods. This role helps set the standards for work within the department and contributes to the development of department goals, resource plans and budgets.


This is a remote position based in England.


Key Duties & Responsibilities



Manages the operations and development of the logistics and distribution function including integration of these activities cross-functionally, in collaboration with other managers Influences the development of objectives across existing global supply chain networks; creates and implements operational tactics to ensure goal achievement Assists in the creation of department goals Collaborates with finance managers to develop the valuation of goods being moved Supports supplier selection and manages relations for function-specific suppliers Prepares and presents briefings on group plans, progress and high-level Logistics issues Primary owner of group business processes including designing, drafting, reviewing and approving standard operating procedures for group activities Manages logistics team professionals Determines project assignments and staffing requirements for projects Determines hiring plan for group in conjunction with senior management Oversees staff performance, progress towards goals; provides staff with coaching, motivation and career development advice Leveraging established relationships with other managers, proactively and collaboratively works cross-functionally to resolve issues that block the timely flow of materials or projects Owns and drives external governance with logistics partners against contractual KPI's Drives and owns continuous improvement initiatives and pipeline both internally & externally

Required Education Level



Bachelor's degree in a scientific, business, or related discipline


Required Experience



Typically requires significant years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience in logistics and distribution.


Required Knowledge/Skills



Demonstrated ability to manage a team of individual contributors Proven ability to manage multiple projects with high degree of effectiveness Possesses a distinguished record of delivering on critical project goals and moving projects forward Exhibits a robust knowledge in Logistics Demonstrates strong aptitude for motivating others and building team unity Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely (written/oral ) with all levels of the company Advanced vendor management skills Experienced at managing Logistics supplier relationship and contract management.
