Green Economy

, part of the Growth Company has an exciting new opportunity for an Associate Director to lead on business development activities for Green Economy, working with the Green Economy Director and the head of service leads, to lead on developing existing services with a specific focus on expanding commercial services which currently include consultancy, training and strategic partnerships.


Key Responsibilities:




Lead the development of services that align with Green Economy's mission and meet evolving market needs. Identify and launch new commercial and funded service propositions across the UK, including Local Authorities and public sector bodies. Oversee the delivery of consultancy projects in collaboration with GC Consulting, ensuring high-quality outcomes. Drive strategic partnerships to expand Green Economy's reach and enhance service delivery. Monitor and report on business performance, including SWOT analysis and long-term strategic planning. Support the development of internal business processes to improve operational efficiency and continuity. Maintain oversight of project budgets and commercial income streams, ensuring financial sustainability. Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering consultancy skills and market intelligence capabilities.

About You:




A strategic thinker with a strong commercial mindset and a passion for the green agenda. Experienced in senior management or director-level roles within the private sector. Comfortable working across complex stakeholder landscapes, including public sector and industry bodies. Collaborative and credible, with a focus on building trust and long-term relationships. Innovative and proactive in identifying opportunities for service growth and improvement. Able to balance strategic vision with hands-on delivery and operational oversight. Committed to delivering client-centred services that make a positive impact.

Skills Required:




Excellent research, analysis, and report-writing skills with the ability to present complex information clearly. Strong leadership and team development capabilities, with a focus on consultancy and commercial growth. Proven ability to influence, network, and manage strategic relationships across sectors. Experience in budget management, commercial modelling, and project delivery. Knowledge of the LCEGS sector, including current and emerging business issues and regulatory frameworks. Understanding of publicly funded business support and investment landscapes. Familiarity with project management techniques and contract management practices. Degree-level education or equivalent, with substantial experience in consultancy and green tech sectors.
