Job Description

As an experienced and credible nurse the Associate Director of Nursing and Quality will be able to positively influence and support the development of, nurses and other non-medical disciplines in the delivery and improvement of services to patients. This will be achieved through facilitating learning and development of nursing and non-medical staff, including working in partnership with other organisations. This will include taking a lead role in the development of clinical development pathways through training and competency frameworks. The Associate Director of Nursing for Children Services will lead on the safety and quality agenda for services to ensure high levels of patient safety, patient experience and professional standards of care.

The role will take responsibility for the management of the Heads of Nursing and Clinical Leads/Matrons for the Directorate to ensure a robust structure of audits, oversight and assurance. The role will be responsible for engaging with the Clinical Quality Directorate, as well as engaging with the Director of Nursing, Chief Nurse and Director of Children services. Demonstrating a high level of communication, both verbally and written, the post hold will provide assurance in a range of ways, as well as ensuring Children services are prepared and performing at a high level, achieving the Key Lines of Enquiry standards, supporting innovation, supporting practice development and developing initiatives.
