Purpose of the role
This role will shape the public narrative, protect the reputation, and elevate the visibility of the UK College Division's brands, Currently LCCA, LCCM, LAT, IBAT and The Language Gallery. You will lead on the PR and communications strategy, media relations, crisis and stakeholder management and internal communications telling stories that reflect the values and diversity of the brands. You will be responsible for upholding the corporate image whilst increasing brand awareness. You will provide advice and guidance to the senior leadership team on best practice, new developments and opportunities. You will deliver media training and develop policies to ensure effective reputation management. You will devise and deliver PR campaigns to drive brand awareness as well as being responsible for the production of annual reports and corporate materials. A key part of this role will be focussed on building both internal and external relationships. Our brands are awash with good news and amazing stories your skill will be in finding and leveraging them to drive reputation and support future growth. It is expected that you will sit on a number of committees and panels as they evolve.
Key Activities and Responsibilities:

  • Develop the strategy and public relations plans for each brand to support reputation, tell their stories and grow share of voice.
  • Create engaging and authentic PR and comms campaigns to support business objectives. Commissioning/carrying out research as required to support/create new stories to the benefit of the brands.
  • Monitor and analyse media coverage, public opinion, and industry trends to proactively address potential issues and capitalise on opportunities. Manage and develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including those in the wider Global University Systems Group. Develop a stakeholder matrix to ensure clear communications and proactive management of stakeholders.
  • Develop the policies and strategies required for crisis management for each brand. With consideration of managing within the digital world across all social channels.
  • Responsible for identifying opportunities to promote each brand through various media channels, including traditional media, TV, digital platforms, and social media.
  • Provide expert advice to the Senior Leadership Team, including reporting on a regular basis and contributing to team and board reports. Provide media training for staff and students across the brands to ensure confidence and appropriateness when dealing with the media.
  • Be a key member of various panels and boards and act as the brands' spokesperson as required.
  • Establish a database of case studies both written and video to support all PR and communication activities. With a particular focus on students and alumni stories. Produce annual reports and other materials as required.
