The Patient-Centered Solutions team (PCS)

The PCS team leads the industry in the science of measuring the patient experience. We pair strategic consulting expertise with technical scientific knowledge to design and execute scientifically rigorous research that incorporates the patient voice into the development and commercialization of new medicines. This research includes qualitative (e.g., patient interviews, focus groups), quantitative (e.g., clinical outcome assessments (COAs)/patient-reported outcomes (PROs), preference research) and passive (e.g., digital health technology tools) approaches to understand patient, caregiver and physician experiences and expectations of disease and treatment.

Responsibilities

As an Associate Director, you will be responsible for providing scientific oversight on projects in the field of patient-centred research, for ensuring modern and rigorous scientific methodologies and recommendations to clients, and for supporting strategic insights.

In your day-to-day role, you will

Collaborate directly with strategic consultants to support proposal development

Provide scientific leadership/ownership of qualitative and quantitative research projects, in particular qualitative research, critical appraisal and development of COA questionnaires, development of COA strategies, interpretation and dissemination of COA data

Drive internal scientific activities pertaining to quality, consistency and thought leadership through internal workstreams and external collaborations

Advise clients on good practice in generating patient experience data, and how it addresses needs for evidence generation and dissemination, regulatory and market access strategy

Support people-related activities such as recruitment, training and development

Essential experience, skills and education required

An advanced academic science degree in public health, epidemiology, psychology, sociology, medical anthropology, health economics or another related field

At least 5 years of experience in consulting/research within the pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry

At least 3 years of previous experience in scientific advice and leadership in generating and using patient experience data in submission to regulatory bodies, payers or for publication; preferably with exposure to COA/PRO development, COA/PRO endpoint strategies and, regulatory dossiers

Knowledge of the healthcare regulatory processes and/or international payer systems

Ability to engage meaningfully with clients and project teams

Ability to lead scientific research projects

Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presenting, facilitating meetings and workshops, and report writing

Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality

Demonstrable analytical, interpretative, and problem-solving skills

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others

An ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple tasks

An ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in multi-disciplinary and international teams
