We collaborate closely with marketing, production, and sales, to ensure our journals are of the highest quality and have a significant impact. We pride ourselves on maintaining positive relationships with journal editorial boards and publishing partners while delivering outstanding service and mentorship.


Could you be our new Associate Editor? Are you?



Experienced in coordinating journal management activities such as recruiting editors, presenting at editorial board meetings, improving journal performance, peer review and workflows. Data driven in approach, interpreting performance metrics to guide journal growth strategy and deliver measurable improvements. Knowledgeable in research ethics to identify issues early and act appropriately to safeguard integrity. A confident communicator who can present clearly, write persuasively, and influence with impact. Skilled at building and sustaining relationships across teams, external societies and institutions. Highly organised and detail focused, able to balance priorities and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced setting. Technically proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and IT tools, using them to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.

Your new role:




You'll actively manage a portfolio of journals to improve their quality, profile, market share, and financial performance.


Set and uphold publishing standards by embedding clear guidance across peer review, research integrity, and editorial workflows. Build and empower editorial boards by recruiting diverse expertise and enabling members to drive journal growth. Deliver financial performance by growing revenues and managing costs to ensure sustainable profitability. Provide actionable insights by using data and metrics to inform editorial strategy and strengthen society partnerships. Secure and sustain partnerships through effective contract negotiations and financial reporting Represent SAGE at conferences and lead editorial board meetings that advance journal visibility. Ensure journal success by coordinating production, promotion, and distribution to improve reach and impact. Integrate new titles seamlessly by leading acquisitions from contract to publication with strong cross-team collaboration.
