Imperium Commodity Search is exclusively retained by an established and dominant options brokerage business in London with aggresive growth plans in the oil, gas and energy options markets. After successfully launching an energy team in 2020, the growth of this market sector for them has been exponential. Having entered a number of record days for volumes traded across a number of energy options asset classes, the energy derivatives desk is continuing to push for further growth of this already excellent team.
As a result of this growth aspiration, the need has arisen for talented junior brokers from the energy space to join the desk and continue growing market coverage through the firms exceptional market-access capabilities. Managing a diverse client base across both corporate and institutional market participants, the successful candidate will be assisting the head of desk with brokerage tasks whilst building out new business avenues and client types to further the development of the team and build their own personal book of energy clients (Oil, Gas, EUAs, Emissions, European Power & Gas, Coal etc.)
Responsibilities:

• Work alongside Desk Head on the Energy Desk covering energy options markets to manage and develop a portfolio of Business.
• Build and maintain relations with corproate and institutional clients trading energy options (emissions, power, gas, EUAs, carbon, LNG, JKM etc.) whilst utilising the huge volume of open lines to develop business in a timely fashion
• Provide oil & gas/energy market commentary and analysis to clients for business development and retention purposes
• Assist desk head on ad-hoc tasks with major clients of the business (Trading participants in the energy sector)
• Stay in touch with the energy markets, ensuring up to date insight on the markets, price movements, geopolitical events and price drivers
• Provide excellent customer service to execution clients of the business, ensuring timely and customer centric execution of options contracts across the energy space
• Additional ad-hoc tasks where required to support the wider energy options brokerage business

Experience:

• 1-3 years' experience in a brokerage, IDB, FCM or similar covering the energy markets (futures, options, swaps, derivatives)
• Good knowledge and interest in the energy, oil, gas, emissions markets (particularly in Europe)
• Customer-focused, strong communication skills and expediency in execution tasks
• Understanding of relevant exchanges (ICE, EEX, CME etc.) for relevant energy products (oil, gas, power, EUAs, LNG etc.)
• Desire to grow a personal book of business whilst learning from experienced heads in the business
• Located in London (or willing to relocate)
