Associate Forensic Consultant, Epiq



As an associate forensic consultant within UK\xe2\x80\x99s Forensic Services Team, you will be trained in the scoping, coordination, and the execution of eDiscovery data collections, forensic projects, and providing advice to lawyers and case managers on eDiscovery and other forensic related topics. You will also help market the Team\xe2\x80\x99s capabilities, working with the sales & marketing teams to widen our forensic client base.

You will also help maintain a technologically advanced computer lab using forensic hardware and software designed to provide high quality services. You will be expected to keep current with all areas inclusive of hardware, software and best practice methodologies to allow the team to give up to date advice. In addition to your expertise in data forensics, preservation, and chain of custody rules, you are expected to have a strong knowledge of the eDiscovery litigation process and the Rules of Civil Procedure. You will also be an outgoing team player, collaborating with other departments to ensure the efficient delivery of overall client services.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out client engagements especially the following key phases: planning, execution, completion, and follow-up.
  • Perform comprehensive technical analyses and interpret computer related evidence on a variety of network environments, software, media, and storage systems.
  • Ensure the collection of evidence and chain of custody processes are achieved consistently with industry best practices.
  • Provide advisory services to enhance forensic and eDiscovery engagements.
  • Acquire and develop comprehensive knowledge of client operations, processes and business objectives as well as internal operations, and use this information to identify additional opportunities for achieving client objectives.
  • Help maintain the laboratory hardware and software resources; validate new hardware and software as necessary to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Maintain current knowledge within Forensic examinations and eDiscovery data collection.
  • Maintain a close relationship with other departments, including Client Services and Production (data processing) to ensure an efficient delivery of data from collection to processing, with accurate and timely status reporting.
  • This position will be expected to require at least 50% travel.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum 2:1 Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree from an accredited University in a Computer Forensics related field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 6 months of digital forensics experience.
  • Knowledge of delivering affidavits and in providing court testimony to defend the processes used in data preservation, collection, and forensics engagements.
  • Excellent written and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment.
Technical Skills
  • Strong technical background in computing and digital forensics.
  • Knowledge in data collection and preservation best practices.
  • Understanding of networking environments, storage systems, and file systems, including Windows, Linux, and UNIX.
  • Understanding of email systems including Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes, Novell GroupWise, Eudora, and Unix mail.
  • Ability to obtain appropriate industry certifications, such as CFCE, CISSP, CFE, CCE, or EnCE.
