We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Associate HR Business Partner to support the People Business Partners in the provision of a comprehensive professional and high quality HR service to their localities.
The post holder will work closely with the People Business Partners and HR Advisers to ensure the provision of an efficient and effective human resource service, which includes advising on employee relations case management, recruitment and retention strategies and approaches, workforce plans, health and well-being guidance and initiatives and absence management. The postholder will have delegated responsibility for the management of identified employee relations cases.
Responsibilities
Provide professional HR advice to all levels of managers across the full range of employee relations issues including, discipline, capability, absence, performance management, redeployment and early resolution), in line with Trust policy and employment legislation.
The post holder will provide support to individual employee relations investigations and hearings, adhering to broad Trust and HR policies and legislation and ensuring these are completed within the Trust timescales.
The postholder will have responsibility for the management of identified cases, as delegated by the People Business Partner, including supporting employee relations investigations and individual formal sickness absence cases.
Act as a contact point for managers and staff seeking advice on the interpretation and application of terms and conditions of service, employment law and employment policies and procedures. The postholder will be required to analyse queries which may be complex and offer solutions, including the identification of risks.
Contribute towards the management of attendance and sickness absence issues, in order to ensure that the overall sickness absence rate is within the Trust target, supporting the People Business Partner with the management of individual sickness absence cases.
Build credibility with managers through communicating information which may be complex or sensitive in a confident way.
Experience
Degree or equivalent experience working within a generalist HR role
Proven ability to interpret and advise on terms and conditions of employment
Sound and up to date knowledge of employment law
Understanding of the importance of confidentiality, data protection and information governance.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including verbal reasoning, presentation skills, influencing & persuasion skills.
Experience of working autonomously within HR in a multi-skilled professional and unionised environment.
