Summary
The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive range of employment services as nominated first point of contact for service areas within the Trust and provide advice across the Trust as appropriate in the absence of colleagues.
The responsibilities involve supporting managers on a range of employee relations and people activities, managing diversity, terms and conditions of employment, workforce planning and the application of employment law and effective employment practice.
Responsibilities
Provide professional advice to managers on complex people matters in line with the organisation's policies and procedures and employment legislation and best practice ensuring a high quality, efficient and cost effective service.
With support from the HR Partner, act as the main point of contact for managers in delivering agreed organisation change processes and service redesign providing support to managers and staff in relation to job design, redeployment, redundancy, TUPE transfer etc. This will include analysing statistics, identifying trends and making recommendations based on this.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, staff side representatives and managers at all levels to support operational plans and objectives.
Support the HR Partner by undertaking day to day supervision of a HR Advisor in the team or an HR Assistant. Undertaking 121's, appraisals, return to work interviews and providing day to day support
To advise on the implementation and interpretation of national and local agreements and the impact of changes in employment legislation.
Deputise for the HR Partner at Care Group/Departmental meetings
To advise on recruitment and retention issues with particular reference to Managing Diversity and Equality and flexible working practices, and to assist in recruitment and retention initiatives as appropriate.
Participation in all aspects of the job matching/evaluation process including advising on grading/banding enquires associated with Agenda for Change
To assist in the review, research and associated implementation of NHS and Employment Service initiatives.
Qualifications
Knowledge of specialist HR topics to postgraduate diploma level acquired through degree and a professional HR qualification or the equivalent level of training and experience
Evidence of CPD
Experience of undertaking a range of complex employee relations casework including disciplinary and grievance processes
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to analyze data and provide actionable insights.
Ability to present information to individuals and groups.
Previous administrative experience in an HR setting is preferred.
Understanding of employment law and best practices in HR.
