Associate Implementation Consultant (accountancy Software)

Slough, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Why this role is exciting

Join IRIS Accountancy's Professional Services Team at a pivotal moment as we help customers transition from desktop products to our next-generation cloud solutions. As an Implementation Consultant Associate, you'll play a hands-on role in shaping customer journeys - guiding them through migrations, supporting new implementations, and ensuring they get the best possible experience with IRIS software.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who loves problem-solving, learning new technologies, and supporting customers through meaningful change. With major migration programmes underway over the next two years, you'll be at the heart of a strategic transformation that's critical to IRIS's future success, while gaining invaluable accountancy knowledge and familiarity with industry leading software!

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

Help customers move from IRIS desktop accountancy software to our cloud solutions, supporting them step-by-step through the process. Assist with setting up and preparing customer data so it's ready for migration. Take part in delivering migration projects, working with more experienced consultants to ensure everything runs smoothly. Provide customers with guidance and training so they feel confident using their new software. Support colleagues across Professional Services and Customer Support when needed, gaining exposure to different parts of the business. Learn and maintain a good understanding of accountancy processes and how IRIS software supports them. Build positive relationships with customers and internal teams, acting as a friendly, reliable point of contact.

What We're Looking For

You'll be a great fit if you have:

A strong educational background. Excellent customer service skills and a passion for helping users succeed. Knowledge of accountancy software used in practice (advantageous but not essential). Good Excel skills and confidence with tools like Word and PowerPoint. Strong written and verbal communication skills. The ability to work independently and take initiative. A persuasive, encouraging, and motivating approach when guiding customers. Customer awareness and a commitment to delivering a high-quality experience. Resilience and flexibility during times of change. A willingness to learn and develop in a fast-moving environment.

What you'll get

You'll receive full training from experienced consultants and daily support from the wider Professional Services team, helping you quickly build confidence as you learn our products, our processes, and how we deliver a great customer experience. You'll gain hands-on skills in data preparation, customer onboarding, and software guidance -- all with real-time coaching to help you grow every day.

There's a clear progression path, too. With the right mindset and the structured support you'll receive, you can progress into areas such as software implementation, data migration, project coordination or management, or even roles across the wider IRIS business that rely on strong knowledge of our accountancy solutions.

You'll be joining a supportive, collaborative team that values learning, curiosity, and continuous improvement. You'll grow your technical confidence, develop professional skills that open doors across the business, and gain real experience working with customers throughout their journey with IRIS.

What to Expect From the Application Process

Here's how the process will work, step-by-step:

Every customer interaction helps you grow. Every project builds your skills. This role gives you the foundation, training, and support to build a long-term, successful career in implementation, projects, or beyond -- starting right here at IRIS
