full time vacancy that will close in 2 months at 23:59 GMT.The vacancy Moore Barlow is currently seeking an Associate (Solicitor or Legal Executive) to join our Leasehold Enfranchisement Team. Our team is primarily based in the Southampton office, but we are flexible on where this new addition to the team will be based.
More about us:
Formed via a merger in 2020, Moore Barlow is a leading law firm with an aim to be the best law firm to work for regionally. We are a career firm, providing access to high-quality work, long-term career opportunities and an environment built on the premise of being "human first" in everything we do. Put simply, we care as much about your career as you do.
We are featured in The Times' Best Law Firms 2025 list, and consistently achieve recognition for the quality of our services in the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, including specific recognition for our work in Residential Property.
We are now 450 people, including 280 lawyers and 58 Partners, with offices across the South-East and London.
More about the Leasehold Enfranchisement team:
Our specialist Leasehold Enfranchisement team, led by Louise Uphill (Senior Associate), is a key part of our wider property division. The team is highly regarded for advising both freeholders and leaseholders on a broad range of enfranchisement matters, including lease extensions, collective enfranchisement, right to manage, and freehold acquisitions.
The team works closely with other departments across the firm, providing a holistic service and advice on related areas such as private wealth, and real estate disputes. With clients ranging from individual leaseholders and investors through to large estates and property companies, our team has established and continues to build on their reputation for combining technical excellence with a practical, client-focused approach.
We pride ourselves on delivering clear, strategic advice and building long-term relationships. Many of our clients return time and again and recommend us to others for our professionalism, responsiveness, and deep understanding of this complex area of law.
Day to day:
As an Associate, you will manage your own caseload of enfranchisement matters, advising on both individual and collective claims under leasehold legislation. You will work closely with Louise Uphill and other lawyers across the division, taking responsibility for progressing matters efficiently while taking a Human-First approach; something that Moore Barlow prides itself on.
You will have the opportunity to get involved in marketing, networking, and wider business development initiatives, helping to strengthen and grow our presence while developing your own reputation as a specialist in this niche area of law. You will also play a key role in mentoring and supporting junior team members as part of a collaborative and Stronger Together team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Leasehold Enfranchisement lawyer, or more of a "mixed-bag" lawyer wanting to specialise, to develop their expertise in this area of law and to progress their career as part of a firm that cares as much about their development as they do.
What we look for:
A qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive, ideally with a good grounding in leasehold enfranchisement matters.
We do not use PQE as a strict measure of experience, but we anticipate this position would suit someone with at least 3PQE who is ready to step into an Associate role and develop further.
Confidence in handling your own caseload as well as supporting others in the team, with excellent technical and drafting skills.
Strong client-management skills and a commitment to deliver clear, pragmatic, and tailored advice.
An interest in business development and building your professional network.
Above all, we seek individuals who share our Human-Firstethos - approachable, collaborative, and passionate about helping clients achieve their goals.
If you have the required skills and experience and are keen to advance your career as part of our leading Leasehold Enfranchisement Team, we strongly encourage you to apply.
