Job Description

We are recruiting to the position of Associate Lecturer in Statistics within the School of Mathematics and Statistics. This is a fixed term position (to 30 June 2027) that has arisen following a secondment of one of our statisticians.





We are looking for an outstanding teacher of Statistics to join us in delivering our highly rated programmes of teaching. We welcome applications from candidates who hold, or will shortly hold, a PhD in Statistics or a closely-related discipline. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in cutting-edge statistical aspects of Machine Learning and its applications, though all areas of Statistics will be considered. The successful candidate will join a supportive team within the Division of Statistics, contributing to the delivery of its taught modules at all levels, and supervising final-year undergraduate and MSc projects. They will also have opportunities to develop their own research and/or scholarship interests, and support for professional development activities.
