The role

We are seeking to appoint several enthusiastic and knowledgeable Associate Lecturers to join our academic team in the field of International Business; Hospitality; Tourism and Aviation & Airport Management. These roles offer an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality, applied teaching, learning, and assessment across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

The department

Join our passionate and driven academic teaching team - delivering transformative, innovative and inspirational learning experiences that prepare students for a career in the International Business, Tourism, Hospitality and Aviation sectors.

We have a renowned portfolio of postgraduate and undergraduate courses we also support Technical Professional Higher Degree Apprenticeship. Our students benefit from work-related, real-world inspired courses that prepare them for the world of work and the practical application of their knowledge.

Sheffield Business School has approximately 6,000 students and 220 academic staff. It has a long history dating back to the 1950's, before it was formally branded as the Sheffield Business School in 1986, which has since had significant success. We are a leading applied Business School with a mission to lead transformative change for our students, businesses, and society.

You will be contractually enrolled into the Teachers' Pension Scheme (TPS) - one of the largest and most generous defined-benefit pension schemes in the country.

Each year you will earn a secure pension benefit of 1/57th of your salary and the University will pay pension contributions towards the cost of this pension (currently worth about 29% of your salary). For a starting salary of 40,000, for example, the University would pay just over 11,400 in the first year of your employment and you would earn a pension of 702 p.a. for that year (payable from your State Pension Age).
