About the School of Architecture
Led by Dr Adrian Lahoud, the School of Architecture offers a stimulating environment for creative practice in one of the world's leading cities for design. The programme encourages students to develop material, conceptual, and technical skills through project-based pedagogy, historical and theoretical seminars, interdisciplinary collaboration, and engagement with live projects.
Purpose of the Role
We are seeking an Associate Lecturer (AL) to contribute high-quality teaching in Interior Design, complementing core programme delivery. The AL will engage with the programme's three Superplatforms: superREUSE, superMATTER, and superFUTURES, bringing expertise and professional insight to enhance student learning.
Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver interiors-focused teaching aligned with the Superplatforms, supporting both individual and group learning.
  • Provide academic, pastoral, and technical tutorials, including one-to-one support.
  • Offer regular, constructive feedback to help students develop skills and creative practice.
  • Contribute to curriculum design, teaching materials, and assessment of student work.
  • Participate in cross-disciplinary teaching, field trips, and programme planning events as appropriate.
  • Keep abreast of innovation and best practice in interior design and teaching.
  • Uphold the College's commitment to Equality, Diversity, and inclusion.
Person Specification
Essential:
  • First degree in an interiors-based discipline.
  • Commitment to high-quality postgraduate teaching in interior design.
  • Experience in one-to-one and group teaching, including online or blended learning.
  • Understanding of the professional and industry context for interiors.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with students of diverse backgrounds.
Desirable:
  • Masters degree in an interiors-related discipline.
  • Experience supervising Masters-level student work.
  • Experience designing and delivering Masters-level courses, particularly in building reuse or interior urbanism.
