We are seeking a passionate and skilled educator to contribute to the delivery and development of our undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes in mechanical engineering. You will play a key role in teaching design, mechanics, and project-based modules, from foundational to advanced levels.
You will lead lectures, tutorials, and workshops, supervise individual and group projects, and assess student work. You'll also contribute to curriculum development, create engaging learning materials, and support departmental outreach and student engagement initiatives. This is a hands-on teaching role that requires both technical expertise and a commitment to educational excellence.
About You
You will have:
  • A First-Class MEng or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
  • Proven experience and achievement in university-level, design-oriented engineering teaching
  • A track record of supervising undergraduate or postgraduate individual and group projects
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Fusion 360, or equivalent)
  • The ability to teach project-based learning from concept and design through to manufacturing
You will also demonstrate:
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
  • The ability to motivate and engage students across different levels
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to learn new skills
