This Opportunity:





Palladium International Ltd is looking for an organised and proactive Legal Associate (UKEA) to support our Senior Manager, Legal Counsel (UKEA). Responsibilities include drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal contracts, handling legal queries, managing contract workflows, maintaining legal documents, and providing administrative support to the Legal and Compliance function. The role reports to the Legal Counsel.



Location & Position Details:





This position is based in Palladium's London office, within our United Kingdom, Europe, and Africa (UKEA) region. Please note that applicants must have the right to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available for this role.



Palladium supports a hybrid working model. This is a part-time role (50% FTE), and the successful candidate will be expected to work from the office at least one day per week.



Reporting Lines:





The role is part of the UKEA Regional Legal unit. As delegated, the role liaises with internal clients, including Project Management Team, technical area specialists, corporate services, finance and treasury, General Counsel's Office, professional service providers (including external law firms), and other stakeholders as required.



The line manager for the role is the Senior Manager, Legal Counsel (UKEA). The reporting requirements include:



Report to the Legal Counsel for all legal queries and support activities. Maintain regular updates on the progress of legal requests and contract workflows.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:




The primary responsibilities of the Legal Associate (UKEA) are:



Legal Triage and Support

: Serve as the initial point of contact for internal and external legal enquiries, ensuring timely triage and escalation to the Legal Counsel as appropriate. Maintain a log of incoming requests and track progress through to resolution. Assist the Legal Counsel in preparing for meetings, hearings, and internal reviews.

Contract and Document Management:

Support the drafting, reviewing, negotiating and formatting of legal documents including contracts, NDAs, and amendments using Palladium templates.Maintain and update the contract register and legal document repository. Ensure version control and compliance with internal governance procedures.

Administrative and Operational Support:

Manage diaries, schedule meetings, and coordinate communications on behalf of the Legal Counsel. Prepare correspondence, reports, and briefing materials. Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to gather information and ensure timely responses.

Compliance and Record-Keeping

: Support the implementation of legal and compliance policies and procedures. Ensure accurate filing and archiving of legal documents in accordance with data protection and confidentiality standards.



The role carries minimal autonomy on Legal Compliance with regular consultation with the Senior Manager, Regional Legal. The role is required to:



Analyse and make sound recommendations to the line manager and project implementation teams. Contribute to policy and process improvement through innovative and cost-effective proposals/ideas/suggestions.

Essential Criteria:



Previous experience in a legal assistant, contract administrator, or similar role. Familiarity with legal terminology, contract structures, and document management systems. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and document formatting tools. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. Effective time management and multitasking abilities. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams. Adaptability and flexibility in response to changing business environments. Strategic thinking and the ability to contribute to the long-term profitability and growth of the organisation. Ability to develop and use collaborative relationships. Commitment to continuous learning and self-development. Understanding of individual impact on the organisation and effective resource management.

Desirable Criteria:



Some work experience in a developing country or similar environment is preferred. Some experience with Government contracting is preferred.
