Job Description

Summary



You will have experience with designing projects from conception through to completion (including calculations, drawings, specifications), whilst demonstrating commercial awareness in winning work.

Assist with developing Building Services and be part of the Building Services discipline group. Help shape and grow the technical development of the group. Lead and manage the workload of the Building Services team and manage office behaviour. Manage existing clients and develop further opportunities, undertaking entertaining when required Look to grow the Company on the back of new and repeat clients. Be responsible for resourcing and delivering to financial targets and client deadlines. Raise awareness of the business by attendance at networking events, seminars, and business development events. Set an example for the workforce to follow. Make yourself available to the office and clients outside of hours, when required Contact project leads on a fortnightly basis to ensure that they are consistently happy with our output to them. Report back to Directors with workload updates, morale, suggestions for improvements. Develop Company Standards for both drawings and specifications.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications



Educated to degree or HND level or equivalent Chartered Engineer or progressing towards Outgoing and personable

Design / Engineering



Concept design. Option evaluation Prepare stage reports / outline designs, feasibility Brainstorm design solutions Detail design Maintain comprehensive design file Produce scheme design drawings for CAD Produce design sketches Invite suppliers' expert knowledge and costs Adopt flexible attitude to project and design

Project Management



Client Management



Client management. Taking the lead on all communications with Clients. Advising on fees and preparing fee proposals. Interpreting project requirements. Promote 'can do' attitude.

Design Team Management



Communicating with design team members. Prepare written reports for DTMs. Convene technical domestic meetings with team. Provide assistance to team.

Project Strategy



Fully familiarise with ACE B2 document. Prepare project plan at outset. Prepare project programme for design/pre-construction Allocate resources for project. Produce design stage reports as appropriate.

Financial Management



Produce cost plans and pre-tender estimates. Produce cost comparisons for systems/plant. Understand project costs and M&E ratios. Demonstrate our interest in financial matters. Evaluate/Report on Tender Returns Be commercially aware and identify scope gaps and additional works by raising DCO's

Sub-Contractor and Site Management



Fully brief Sub-Contractors. Adopt non-adversarial management approach, firm and fair. Monitor and report progress. Raise instructions. Assist problem solving process. Respond to RFIs, queries quickly. Control project finance and variation costs with PQS. Confirm all site matters. Respond to any changes quickly

Human Resource Management



Allocate and monitor project tasks and time. Engender 'can do' attitude with personnel. Encourage, listen and motivate staff. Produce weekly / daily work plans. Produce four-weekly resource forecasts.
Develop trainee programme.

Adopt non-adversarial management approach, firm and fair.

Manage staff resources daily via Trello Ensure staff timesheets are completed frequently and accurately

Practice Management & Finance



Produce monthly project reports Assist with fee bidding and proposals. Monitor project man hour expenditure and report.

Pay: 55,000.00-65,000.00 per year
