Introduction to the Private Client Tax team at S&W




Our Private Client Tax Services team helps individuals from all walks of life with their tax issues. With over 6,000 private tax clients and 1,500 trusts, our team's client base is incredibly diverse, including high-net-worth families and individuals, as well as entrepreneurs, business owners and family businesses.


You will be joining a team that supports clients to meet their tax compliance obligations, liaises with HMRC on their behalf and provides advice to assist with their short and long-term needs and objectives. This can include preparing their tax returns, repayment claims, computations, accounts, advice and dealing with any correspondence from HMRC.



The Cambridge office is on an ambitious growth journey, and we need equally driven and ambitious people to join our Private Client Tax Team.


As an Associate, you will be integral in supporting the delivery of tax planning, compliance and advisory services tailored to the unique needs of a diverse and impressive high-net-worth client base. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and high performing team of tax professionals.


This will be a hybrid role, with the requirement to be in the Cambridge office to collaborate with colleagues three times a week.

As an Associate, your responsibilities will include:



Working with Tax Managers, Directors and Partners overseeing a portfolio of high-net-worth private clients Preparation of self-assessment tax returns ensuring compliance with the latest tax updates Supporting the senior team in providing advice on a broad range of tax matters, including income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax for individuals, families, trustees and partnerships Collaborate closely with other teams across Cambridge and the national office network Help the team to foster strong client relationships, supporting on identifying opportunities for additional services and client growth We foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement and full training support will be given


Qualifications



To be successful in this role you should

Be committed to developing a career in a professional tax environment perhaps including study towards a tax qualification such as ATT GCSE: Minimum Grade 5 (or equivalent), in English Language and Maths respectively
