Job Summary:
The Associate Project Planner provides a support service to Project Managers and the Engineering functions with the assistance of Project Planners regarding the preparation, monitoring and updating of project plans.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:Support Project Managers and Engineers in the construction of resourced project plans using Primavera in accordance with company standards Build credible relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, colleagues and project team members Liaise with resource managers to ensure timely allocation and utilisation of staff resources Assist with the production of detailed budgets consistent with resourced project plans Report on the statusing of project progress, including critical path analysis Assist with the reporting of progress to customers, senior management and project team members Ensure plans are accurate, realistic and consistent with estimates of costs to complete Report significant schedule slippages Assist in the analysis of project costing reports Assist with the production of Earned Value reporting if required Assist the Bids and Proposals team as required in the preparation of proposals and estimates, including project/contract mobilization stage and engineering development stage Work in conjunction with Programme and Engineering Managers to establish robust schedule Ensure plans are correctly set-up and configured for monthly synchronisation with SAP Update Cubic's planning standards and procedures when required Travel to customer and other Cubic sites to attend and contribute to project review meetings as and when required Comply with Cubic's values and adherence to all company policy and procedures. In particular comply with the code of conduct, quality, security and occupational health, safety and environmental policies and procedures In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their manager from time-to-time, as may be reasonably required of them


Minimum Job Requirements:
Skills knowledge and experience:
Essential:
Experience of working with planning software (such as Primavera)

Knowledge and understanding of the principles of Project Management including its effects on the implementation and delivery of project objectives

Experience of providing planning support to varied projects

Experience of working across project teams and with multiple parties (internal and external)

Competent user of MS Office suite, specifically Word and Excel

Desirable:
Experience of working in a busy Planning role

Experience of creating and maintaining robust project plans throughout the entire project lifecycle

Experience of challenging project manager/teams on their plans and resource assignment/utilization

Experience of working within an engineering or IT development environment

Understanding and application of earned value management processes

Education and qualifications
Essential:
Degree or equivalent in a Project/Business discipline (or equivalent level of experience)

Desirable:
APM qualification or equivalent
