The department
The Real Estate Litigation team deliver a high-quality legal service and this role will include exposure to highly topical fire safety related issues for a large fund as well as a range of other work, in both commercial and residential real estate litigation.

You will enjoy a challenging and varied caseload as well as excellent professional development opportunities. The team is assisted by outstanding knowledge lawyers and dedicated support staff.

The department acts for a broad range of clients including:

Commercial landlords and some tenants.
Investors.
Developers.
Ground rent and other residential landlords.
Social Housing organisations.
Private individuals.
Summary of role
The firm operates a hybrid agile working policy allowing employees to work from home (or another UK location) for at least 50% of their time. Individuals can also apply for other flexible working options either at the time of recruitment or during the course of their employment.

Essential and desirable criteria
Experience of a range of residential and commercial matters is sought including some or all of the following:

  • Commercial and residential landlord and tenant including rent recovery and possession claims.
  • Service charge matters including S.20 and related tribunal proceedings.
  • Fire safety issues (repairing and other obligations, fire safety legislation, service charge issues).
  • Enforcement of easements, restrictive covenants and rights of light.
  • Development disputes
  • Commercial tenant insolvency.
  • Disrepair and dilapidations.
  • 1954 Act renewals (contested and uncontested).
  • Adverse possession and squatters.
  • Anti-social behaviour.
  • Enfranchisement / lease extensions.
  • TOLATA claims
  • Agricultural law
