You will be working for an award winning multi-disciplinary consultancy with experience of working on projects worth up to 1Bn with clients including leading defence sector businesses, large corporations, developers, schools/universities, contractors and infrastructure.
What you need to do to be effective in this role
Mentor QS colleagues in the cost management team, help grow and develop their CM talents
Working closely with the Manchester and wider Ridge leadership teams
Be part of business development forums such as Sector Groups
Link into the cost management discipline across all offices
Manage clients and develop further opportunities
Grow the business on the back of new and repeat clients' projects
Lead from the front as regards to client facing meetings, dealing with design teams
and project delivery Manage projects from inception to completion including:
Manging project budgets whilst maintaining value and meeting the client brief
Advise clients and design teams on the cost implications of different building metrics, construction methods, and alternative materials and products
Provide advice on procurement and contractual arrangements
Prepare and tender documents and manage tender procedures through to contract award
Manage the costs of projects during the construction stage and negotiate final accounts
Skills and experience you need to have for this role
The ability to lead a series of projects and client relationships
Ability to deliver repeat business and demonstrate experience of business development
Effective communication skills
Demonstrable experience working within one or more of the following sectors: leisure, sport, residential, regeneration and hospitality
Able to demonstrate experience of using the JCT suite of contracts
Excellent commercial awareness and proven experience of working in a commercially focused role
Be enthusiastic and ambitious
Proficient in the use of MS Office, particularly MS Excel and CostX or other industry standard measurement software
Qualifications
A relevant degree qualification (RICS accredited or equivalent)
MRICS Chartered
