We're looking for an Observability focussed Associate Site Reliability Engineer to be part of our Engineering Excellence team.

Our Mission:

Increase efficiency and agility across engineering teams enabling them to mobilise quickly and deliver quality, secure, right first-time features for our customers at reduced costs.

Enable operations teams to pro-actively monitor and quickly report across critical systems.


Associate Site Reliability Engineer reports into the Engineering Manager and will work closely with observability engineers to implement monitoring, logging, and tracing capabilities across our systems, contributing to enhanced reliability, performance, and visibility. The role will involve strong collaboration with others - be it learning from examples of existing great engineering work, collaborating with others to create it or supporting engineers to implement observability.


This role will initially focus almost exclusively on development in New Relic, configuration and support, and over time evolve to include the wider goals of the team.

Your Role



Assist in implementing observability features such as dashboards, alerts, logs, traces, and metrics using tools like New Relic Collaborate with cross-functional teams (SRE, DevOps, Business units) to understand monitoring requirements and support delivery of observability solutions Support efforts to define and maintain observability-as-code (dashboards, alerts, tags, notification channels) Help instrument applications and infrastructure using standards such as OpenTelemetry Participate in troubleshooting and incident analysis to improve system monitoring and response capabilities Learn and apply best practices in CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and DevOps tooling Support initiatives to automate and standardize observability across environments Take part in team meetings, design discussions, and contribute ideas for improving observability and engineering processes Document observability configurations, Blueprints, processes, and standards for internal use

What You'll Need



Familiarity with observability concepts (monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting) Exposure to New Relic as observability tool Understanding of CI/CD tools and basic DevOps workflows (e.g., GitHub Actions) Basic scripting or programming experience (e.g., Python, Bash, JavaScript, or similar) Exposure to cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure) Familiarity with OpenTelemetry or similar instrumentation frameworks Understanding of distributed systems or microservices architecture Willingness to learn and take on new challenges in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
