Role Summary


UK Connect is seeking an Associate Solutions Engineer to join our growing Technical Operations team. This is an entry-level role designed for individuals looking to build a career in solutions engineering.


You will gain hands-on experience across all areas of the role from pre-sales support and project delivery to solution testing and customer engagement. Working alongside experienced Solutions Engineers, you will be mentored, trained, and supported in achieving industry-recognised certifications, with a clear progression path to becoming a Solutions Engineer.

About You


You are early in your career, looking for a more customer facing role with an increased responsibility, passionate about technology, networking, and problem-solving. Perhaps youve completed a degree, apprenticeship, or certifications or maybe youve gained hands-on experience in a technical role and are now looking to take the next step.


You are curious, eager to learn, and motivated to build a career in networking and solutions engineering. You thrive in a team environment and are excited by the opportunity to work with the latest wireless technologies.


Key Responsibilities

Support pre-sales activities by preparing documentation, presentations, and technical materials. Assist senior engineers in the design and delivery of customer solutions. Contribute to research and testing of new solutions during the onboarding process. Pre-stage and configure equipment in the lab under guidance. Shadow senior engineers on customer sites and remote project work. Assist with service desk escalations where appropriate. Progress through structured training and certifications to advance your skills.

Qualifications and Experience


Essential

Demonstrable interest in networking and technology (through study, certification, or experience) Strong problem-solving ability and willingness to learn. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable

Working toward or holding

CCNA

or equivalent. Exposure to networking technologies such as Wi-Fi, 4G/5G, or IoT. Familiarity with vendors such as Ericsson Cradlepoint, Ruckus, Cambium, or similar. Exposure to RF tools, such as Ekahau or Hamina.
