The Opportunity:

Mesirow is an independent, employee-owned financial services firm founded in 1937. Headquartered in Chicago, with offices across the country, Mesirow serves clients through capabilities spanning Private Capital & Currency, Capital Markets and Investment Banking, and Advisory Services.



The role of the Associate Trader is the execution of OTC and listed derivatives.

Responsibilities:

Execute trades across a range of OTC and exchange-traded derivatives Provide high-quality client service, including performance reporting, analytical insights, and market commentary Develop, evaluate, and refine trading strategies to support client and firm objectives Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, compliance, portfolio management, and trading to ensure seamless execution and support Partner with IT teams by providing feedback to enhance processes and drive operational efficiency Take on additional responsibilities and projects as needed in support of the team and firm goals

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in derivatives and foreign exchange (FX) trading Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong skills in Excel Preferred programming experience in R, Python, and SQL Highly detail-oriented with the ability to work independently Capable of performing under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and meet deadlines Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong decision-making abilities with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
