Associate Designer - Sage for Accountants




Location: Manchester / Newcastle




- This is a hybrid role and will require attendance 3 days per week in either our Manchester / Newcastle office.

Role Overview:

Join our team in Manchester as an Associate Designer and work on our flagship product, Sage for Accountants. This role offers the chance to contribute to the design and development of solutions that enhance the efficiency and success of accountants and small business owners. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create intuitive, user-centric designs that align with our mission of knocking down barriers so everyone can thrive.




Key Responsibilities:




- User-Centric Design: Develop and refine user interfaces that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing, ensuring a seamless user experience for accountants and small business owners.


- Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective design solutions.


- Prototyping: Create interactive prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas and gather user feedback.


- Design Systems: Contribute to the maintenance and evolution of Sage's design system, ensuring consistency across all products and platforms.


- User Research: Participate in user research activities to gain insights into user needs and behaviors, applying findings to inform design decisions.


- Iteration: Engage in iterative design processes, incorporating feedback to continuously improve and refine design solutions.


Key Responsibilities

Qualifications - Must Have:




- Educational Background or Industry Experience: Bachelor's degree in design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or demonstrated industry experience in a design-related role.


- Design Proficiency: Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design capabilities.


- Understanding of AI: Basic understanding of AI technologies and their application in enhancing user experiences.


- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions clearly.


- Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a team, demonstrating adaptability and a collaborative mindset.


- Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail, ensuring precision in design elements and consistency across platforms.


- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a user-centred approach to design challenges.
