Contract: Permanent, full-time.
Salary: 70,000 80,000 per annum - dependant on experience.

Assurance Lead Mechanical
We are seeking a mechanically focused Assurance Lead to support the delivery of construction and maintenance works across SZC's critical infrastructure. Reporting to the Assurance & Utilities Manager, you'll oversee mechanical systems and utilities, ensuring safety, reliability, and performance across SZC's assets.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead mechanical construction and maintenance activities across SZC-owned infrastructure.
• Oversee installation and upkeep of mechanical systems including water pumping, water treatment, desalination & conveyor systems.
• Manage reactive and planned maintenance, fault investigations, and system repairs.
• Ensure compliance with mechanical safety rules and health & safety procedures.
• Act as Senior Authorised Person and Control Person for mechanical works and documentation.
• Coordinate mechanical works to minimise disruption to SZC's electricity, water, and IT&T supplies.
• Support budget planning and delivery for mechanical operations.
• Provide technical input to design and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Deputise for the Assurance & Utilities Manager and lead team briefings when required.
• Maintain high standards of safety management and continuous improvement.

What You'll Bring
Essential:

• Strong experience with mechanical systems operating from 400V to 11kV.
• HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Proven ability to manage mechanical maintenance and construction projects.
• Knowledge of specialist mechanical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Strong planning, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Project, and relevant software.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

• Experience with SZC processes and infrastructure.
• IOSH or NEBOSH safety qualification.
• CSCS or CCNSG certification.
• Understanding of CDM Regulations.
• Strong interpersonal and decision-making skills.
• Senior Authorised Person (SAP) under E&M Safety Rules.
