Assist the Legal Team in providing the Publicis Groupe agencies with appropriate support to ensure legal and regulatory compliance and manage key legal risks. This is a varied role spanning many parts of the UK Legal support model.

The responsibilities may include:

Compliance, Research and Training

  • Draft and review compliance training materials to ensure UK compliance with applicable Publicis Groupe and UK policies
  • Support the Legal Team on company compliance initiatives such as anti-bribery and modern slavery
  • Draft, update and maintain training materials
  • Support the Legal Team on company training initiatives to better enable the business to self-serve and spot legal, compliance and commercial challenges
  • Conduct legal research and summarise findings
  • Undertake Know Your Client reviews
  • Conduct initial advertising compliance reviews; communicate issues to the relevant account manager and assist with related resolution
Corporate Secretarial Support
  • Assist the Company Secretary & Compliance Officer - UK & Ireland, on tasks and projects and corporate transactions as required
  • Maintain Blueprint database and hard copy statutory registers for all UK companies
  • File statutory documentation for all UK companies with Companies House (e.g., Confirmation statements, Accounts, Directors changes etc.)
  • Draft template board minutes; assist with the completion of corporate structure charts and gift & hospitality registers
Employment Support
  • Assist the employment lawyers on tasks and projects as required including tribunal claims and data subject requests
Contract & Litigation Support
  • Conduct proof reading, checking cross referencing and alignment of schedules with contractual clauses in agreements
  • Support in the development and maintenance of legal precedents and best practices
  • Review NDAs for UK agencies and manage the NDA Review inbox and filing system
  • Support on resolution of claims
  • Prepare litigation reports, input information into the litigation system and run related reports
Platform Support
  • Triage legal support requests in SalesForce platform
  • Complete related contract support requests
  • Help maintain standard contract templates and other precedents
Clearance Support
  • Conduct initial review of advertising and promotional materials for clearance issues, including advertising regulation compliance, intellectual property rights and other relevant matters
  • Carry out preliminary trademark searches, summarise results and provide related guidance
  • Instruct external lawyers to carry out Ad Slogan searches as and when required
Administration Support
  • Process invoices and expenses
  • Monitor the post, direct outstanding payment claims to the relevant areas of the business and archive legal files
  • Organise the on-boarding of new members to the Legal team
  • Assist the Head of legal and the Head of UK Employment Law on administrative tasks and projects, including planning team events, creating and maintaining projects plans and spreadsheets, creating PowerPoint documents and other useful materials
  • Oversee Legal team tracking tools that manage legal team initiatives, engagement model & bandwidth management
Qualifications

Qualifications/Certifications
  • Law Degree/Other Degree and GDL
  • LPC/BVC preferred
  • Prior paralegal or contract administration experience preferred
Knowledge / Experience
  • Working knowledge of contract law
  • Experience of the media/advertising industry generally helpful
Skills
  • Excellent English - C2
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with all Microsoft Office programmes (Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook)
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Good research skills
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written)
