We are seeking a dedicated and organised Attendance Officer to oversee student attendance records and promote punctuality within our educational institution. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring accurate attendance tracking, supporting student engagement, and fostering a positive learning environment. Prior experience in teaching or educational settings is desirable, as it will aid in understanding the importance of attendance for student success. Responsibilities
Monitor daily attendance of students and record data accurately using school management systems
Follow up with students and parents regarding absences or tardiness, ensuring timely communication
Maintain organised attendance records and generate reports for staff meetings and administrative review
Collaborate with teaching staff to identify patterns of absenteeism and implement intervention strategies
Support the organisation of attendance-related initiatives aimed at improving punctuality and engagement
Assist in organising meetings with parents or guardians concerning attendance concerns
Promote awareness among students about the importance of regular attendance and punctuality
Ensure compliance with school policies and relevant regulations regarding student attendance
Qualifications
Prior experience in teaching or working within an educational environment is preferred
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with students, parents, and staff
Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and professionally
Proficiency in using computer software such as Microsoft Office or similar programmes
A proactive approach to problem-solving and supporting student welfare
