Vacancy for Attendance Officer
Salary: Meridian Trust Grade 8, Points 19-24
Hours: 37 hours per week, 40 weeks p/year (Term time + 2 weeks)
We have an exciting opportunity for an Attendance Officer to join our team! You will play an important role in monitoring, recording and managing the attendance of all students. We are looking for an individual with strong communication skills who can build valuable relationships with students and their families to support and ensure students can attend school.
The Opportunity
Monitoring student attendance.
To share records regularly and work with House Teams on student attendance and follow up with any students who have been logged as causing an attendance concern.
Provide weekly and periodic attendance reports on attendance levels, patterns and groups for the Senior Leadership team and other key staff.
Develop and maintain appropriate data to record, analyse and provide reports on patterns of attendance.
Hold meetings with families to explore and support causes of absence.
Visit families to encourage/develop strategies to increase attendance.
Act in accordance with legal provisions regulating confidentiality and security of data, information in accordance with GDPR regulations and within the statutory guidance for improving school attendance.
The ideal candidate
Experience in supporting children in an educational environment, including those with a additional needs or challenges.
A sound grasp of the concept of inclusive and trauma aware practice
Skilled at making and sustaining positive relationships with children
Be a team player, with a 'can do' solution focused attitude
Ability to act on own initiative
Possess outstanding communication skills and personal integrity
Knowledge of the concept of confidentiality, attendance and early help pathways.
