Role Overview

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Saleroom Assistant to support the day-to-day operation of our auction saleroom. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with an interest in antiques, fine art, or auctions, offering the opportunity to develop skills in cataloguing, valuation, and saleroom operations. A positive, can-do attitude is essential, as the role involves a wide variety of practical and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Stock Handling & Saleroom Operations

Receipt incoming stock, including accurate labelling and documentation Unpack, sort, and process consignments Assist with collections and client deliveries Assist with the packing and shipping of purchases Maintain existing stock control systems Assist with lotting up of sales Ensure the saleroom is kept tidy, organised, and presentable at all times Assist in preparing the saleroom for public viewing and auction days

Auction & Sale Day Support

Clerk online bidding platforms during sale days Assist with the smooth running of auctions, both live and online

Administrative & Systems Support

Use the company's back-office and auction management systems Support accurate record-keeping and stock tracking

Research & Specialist Support

Undertake research on behalf of senior valuers Assist with cataloguing tasks as experience develops Opportunity to gain exposure to valuation processes

Marketing & Digital Presence

Assist in running and maintaining the company's social media accounts Help promote upcoming sales and highlights from auctions

Skills & Attributes

A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to turn a hand to whatever is needed Organised, methodical, and detail-oriented Physically capable of handling stock and assisting with manual tasks Confident using computer systems; willingness to learn specialist software Interest in auctions, antiques, art, or collectables Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a small team Good communication skills

Pay: 24,801.00-26,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 40 per week
