We are looking for a paediatric audiologist to join our dynamic team. The post-holder will provide routine paediatric assessments (in Tier 2 clinics) and participate in paediatric hearing aid fitting and review appointments (in Tier 3 clinics) at the RSCH and electrophysiology testing as part of the newborn hearing screening programme.
The post holder should have experience in providing the audiological assessment and/or habilitation of children and young people aged 0-18 years.
Clinical work is undertaken primarily at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford, but the post holder will also be required to undertake clinical work at outreach clinics and home visits.
Within our department, there will be various opportunities for career development and training. Participation and completion of the Paediatric Assessment/Rehabilitation Modules of the BAA Higher Training Scheme is actively encouraged. Staff members are also supported to attend external specialist training courses.
Please note this role may involve 7-day a week working to support the service. Core hours of service are 9am - 5pm. Flexible working patterns can be discussed at interview.
All staff members benefit from a wide range of in-house educational and professional development opportunities - these comprise of clinical training in specialist areas; monthly team meetings, and monthly case study presentations. Audiologists are also encouraged to participate in ongoing research projects undertaken within the service.
The service is working towards UKAS accreditation, so the candidate should be motivated by the need for ongoing service development and team work.
The post-holder will have the opportunity to help develop the service, interact with audiology students, and be part of a friendly, supportive and highly professional team.
The post holder will be responsible for providing routine and specialist clinical services, primarily in paediatric Audiology and depending on service needs in adult audiology. The post holder will have a key role in providing training to HTS, BSc students and members of staff, as well as leading service development for paediatrics.
The post holder will deputise for the Paediatric Audiology Lead and Deputy Head of Department when necessary.
The post holder will work closely with the Paediatric Audiology Lead and in collaboration with key personnel in the Trust. The post holder will develop close working relationships with the clinical teams in ENT, the community Audiological teams and Educational Sensory Support Teams.
