HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of your time, at our Edinburgh or Bristol offices

About this opportunity
As an Audit Analyst, you'll support in the delivery of high-quality audits with a focus on Consumer Credit Risk and other Consumer Lending activities. You will own the design and operational evaluation and testing of key controls. Apply proficient knowledge and application of audit methodology in your assigned risk areas.
You'll act as a proactive team member, with a growth mindset, positively contributing to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of audits. Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of GA&CI through a strategic and integrated audit focus, collaboration and agile delivery methods.
Day to day, you will:Contribute to the audit plan, delivering specified audit outcomes and provide support by working as directed by Engagement and Portfolio Leads within the Audit Team. Support control testing and identify areas of concern, clearly articulating your findings and the potential impacts to the Engagement Lead. Help senior colleagues and build meaningful stakeholder relationships. Conduct research considering multiple perspectives and bring the outside in to enable analysis of key business themes and external trends. Suggest improvements in current control processes by being bold. Actively role model the Group values and behaviours. Proactively identify, address and drive personal technical and non-technical development opportunities and create a positive learning culture based on effective coaching and feedback. Freely share insights and timely, direct, effective feedback that contributes to the success of the audit delivery plan and leaves a positive, sustainable impact on the function.

What you'll need:Confidence in leading and taking ownership of discrete areas of work, delivering risk and control assurance that is timely, impactful, and valued by stakeholders. A proactive and collaborative approach, with strong prioritisation skills to manage your own workload and support others effectively. Motivation to foster a culture of shared learning and development--for yourself and your colleagues. A sound understanding of Group, Business Unit, and basic Credit Strategy, with the insight to connect audit delivery and business monitoring to strategic objectives at both macro and product levels. Strong analytical thinking, with the capacity to interpret and communicate data clearly, using it to drive effective audit outcomes.

Capabilities linked to your work:A foundational understanding of the end-to-end Credit Risk lifecycle in Consumer Lending, including best practice in control and risk management, ideally supported by: Insight into credit assessment methods and the key factors influencing credit risk. Understanding of how credit risk and business strategies are monitored and adapted to meet objectives. Basic grasp of financial concepts such as provisions and impairments. Experience with data analytics tools such as SAS, Power BI, Python, or SQL would be advantageous.
