We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Auditor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running with the drive and ambition to help consistently adapt current processes whilst being mindful of the core deliverables of financial control. We have developed a strong specialism in auditing small market cap PLCs, including a number of clients listed on the Aquis Stock Exchange and AIM market, alongside a broader owner-managed business client base. This is a great opportunity for someone with previous audit and accounts experience to develop their knowledge and abilities within the audit sector of accounting. You would be responsible for ensuring your work and reporting is of the highest standard and most up to date with regard to the ever changing accounting policies and auditing standards.
Significant auditing and accounting experience
Excellent technical knowledge of UK accounting and auditing standards.
Prepare detailed audit reports outlining findings, recommendations, and action plans for management.
Utilise accounting software to streamline audit processes and enhance data accuracy.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in financial services to ensure compliance.
Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills.
Demonstrating an understanding of the different types of risk, understanding the Firm's approach and policies for managing risk in relevant business and applicable legal and regulatory rules and following policies
Experience
Proven experience as an auditor or in a similar role within the financial services sector.
Act as a role model for more junior members of the team, providing on-the-job coaching
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Proficiency in accounting software is essential for effective audit execution.
Experience auditing PLCs and listed entities (AIM / Aquis exposure desirable).
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings clearly to stakeholders.
Demonstration of the ability to effectively manage the audit process with appropriate consideration of audit risk issues and accounting technical matters
A relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) is highly desirable.
