Audit Intern

Dundee, SCT, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

At Henderson Loggie, we're proud of our legacy--an independent Scottish accountancy firm with over a century of experience, founded in 1909. With vibrant offices in Dundee and Edinburgh, our 180-strong team of partners and professionals supports a wide range of clients across sectors and scales.

What sets us apart? It's our people. We foster a collaborative, open, and inclusive culture where individuals are valued, supported, and empowered to thrive. We're committed to delivering exceptional service to our clients--and we know that starts with investing in our team.

Our internship programme offers 3rd-year university students the chance to gain real-world experience within our Audit team--our largest and most dynamic department. Over the course of the 6-8 weeks internship, you'll work alongside experienced professionals, gaining exposure to a broad client base and contributing to meaningful projects from day one. You'll also have the chance to shadow mentors and build the foundational skills that a career in accountancy demands.

For those who demonstrate talent, drive, and a genuine interest in audit, there's the potential to progress to a training contract once your studies are complete--provided you achieve a 2:1 degree. We're looking for motivated individuals who are ready to take the next step towards a rewarding career in professional services.

Working in Audit:

Our Audit team plays a critical role in providing independent assurance on our clients' financial performance. Through detailed reviews of financial statements, records, and internal controls, auditors ensure compliance with regulations and the integrity of financial reporting.

As a trainee, you'll study towards your ICAS qualification (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland), which includes training, exams, and practical experience across four key areas: Knowledge, Skills, Integration, and Practice. You'll gain insight into accounting principles, auditing methodologies, and regulatory frameworks--all while developing in a supportive and hands-on environment.

Why Choose Henderson Loggie?

We're proud to be an independent firm and remain committed to making a positive impact in the communities we serve. We've recently launched the Henderson Loggie Charitable Foundation, supporting organisations that help individuals facing a range of challenges. In addition to our charitable work, every employee is given a volunteering day each year to contribute to a cause of their choice. We also support local talent--through sponsorship of business awards and support for young athletes--because making a difference beyond the office matters to us.

Our team describes Henderson Loggie as the perfect balance between the structure of a larger firm and the close-knit feel of a smaller one. You'll be encouraged to take ownership of your development, with the backing of our dedicated Training Academy, designed to help you grow both personally and professionally.
