Audit Manager - CASS Specialist | Watford | Up to 65,000 + Benefits

AJ Chambers are pleased to be working in partnership with a well-established and growing accountancy firm in Watford, currently looking to appoint an experienced Audit Manager with strong knowledge of CASS regulations to support their expanding portfolio of FCA-regulated clients.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified and commercially aware audit professional to take on a senior, client-facing role in a highly reputable firm offering autonomy, variety, and long-term progression.
The Role
As an Audit Manager, you'll take ownership of a varied client portfolio, with a focus on regulated entities subject to CASS rules. You'll manage all aspects of the audit process, lead a team of auditors, and ensure technical compliance with both UK auditing standards and FCA requirements.
Key responsibilities include:

• Managing end-to-end audits for FCA-regulated firms, with a specific focus on CASS audits.
• Planning and reviewing audit assignments to ensure regulatory compliance and technical accuracy.
• Acting as the main point of contact for key clients, providing advice on CASS obligations and best practices.
• Leading and developing audit teams, ensuring high performance and technical development.
• Assisting Partners with workflow management, business development, and strategic input.
• Overseeing file reviews, reporting processes, and audit quality control.

Client Base Includes:

• FCA-regulated entities (investment firms, asset managers, etc.).
• UK subsidiaries of overseas companies.
• SMEs, mid-sized corporates, and not-for-profit organisations.
• Specialist sectors including pensions, charities, and legal firms.

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an experienced audit professional with:

• ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent).
• Strong technical knowledge of CASS audit requirements and FCA regulations.
• Minimum 5 years' audit experience in a UK practice, including managerial responsibilities.
• Demonstrable experience managing audits from planning through to completion.
• Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship management skills.
• Ability to work independently and deliver to tight deadlines in a regulated environment.

Salary & Benefits

• Up to 65,000 depending on experience.
• Annual Christmas Bonus (1 week's salary).
• 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), including office closure over Christmas.
