The Role

At Saffery, clients choose us for our tailored, personal approach, deep expertise, and collaborative way of working. As an Audit Manager or Senior Manager in our growing Not-for-Profit team, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality audit and advisory services to a wide range of organisations across the sector. This is a role for someone who takes ownership of their work and client relationships, while thriving in a culture built on collaboration, shared success, and mutual support. You'll work closely with partners, colleagues, and clients--contributing to a team that values insight, integrity, and excellence. Sector experience is helpful, but not essential; individuals who are commercially minded, values-driven, and curious about their clients' work do very well here.

The Responsibilities

Lead and manage a varied portfolio of charity and not-for-profit clients, delivering audits and advisory work tailored to your clients' needs. Take ownership of engagements from planning to completion, while working collaboratively with your team to ensure quality, insight, and compliance. Act as a trusted advisor, offering technical guidance on accounting, practical advice on controls and wider advice. Support business development through tenders, networking, and identifying opportunities to add value within existing relationships. Mentor and develop audit seniors and trainees, contributing to a culture of learning, support, and shared success. Stay informed on regulatory and sector developments, particularly those affecting charity governance and reporting. Contribute to firm-wide initiatives including recruitment and training. Use systems such as MS Teams, Excel, Word, CCH Audit Automation, CCH Accounts Production, and Inflo to manage workflows and deliver high-quality outputs.

The Team

Our Not-for-Profit practice is one of the most respected in the sector, acting for over 400 organisations in a range of sectors including education, environment, grantmaking, and heritage.

Our clients include start-up charities and centuries-old livery companies, clubs and membership organisations, social enterprises, independent schools, service delivery charities, grant-giving foundations, endowed trusts, theatres and cultural institutions.

You

ACA/ACCA qualified with a strong audit background. Experience working with charities or not-for-profits is helpful, but not essential--what matters most is your ability to apply your knowledge to your clients to deliver a tailored, high-quality service. You take pride in your work, and thrive in a collaborative, professional environment.
