Job Description


The Audit Project Manager is a crucial role for the College in which you will project manage and deliver a high quality and impactful national clinical audit which will support neonatal services and networks in improving clinical care for babies, parents and their families.

As Audit Project Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of the audit including the overall audit methodology and production of periodic reports, ensuring each deliverable is project managed efficiently to completion on time and within budget.

An influential member of the Research and Quality Improvement Division, you will work closely with the Head of Audits and members of the NNAP Project Team, along with the audit clinical lead, data analysts and statisticians, ensuring that the audit findings are disseminated widely and effectively. You will also be responsible for delivering presentations on audit findings to commissioners and funders as well as clinical and patient stakeholders.

In addition, you will lead on the development of quality improvement and patient engagement activities, ensuring clinical teams and parents/carers are able to influence the design and delivery of these activities.

Degree qualified or with equivalent experience within a research discipline, you should have proven experience of working in health-related audit or research in a University or NHS setting (or other relevant organisation).

Highly proficient in project and contract management and with demonstrable negotiation skills, you should be an expert in stakeholder management, being able to manage competing demands and conflicts whilst maintaining productive working relationships.

With demonstrable knowledge of statistical concepts and data cleaning, processing and management, you will have proven experience of producing high quality written reports, documentation and promotional information suitable for a range of audiences.

Line management experience is essential as you will have two direct reports, whilst experience of developing and delivering quality improvement and patient engagement activities along with experience of working on the development of an application, would be desirable.

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health sets and maintains standards for the education and training of all doctors working in paediatrics and child health in the UK. We advocate on child health issues at home and internationally. Additionally, through a variety of activities, the College influences the quality of medical practice for children in hospital and in the community.

The RCPCH has more than 21,000 members and fellows and employs around 170 staff, most of whom work in our London office in Holborn. We have smaller offices in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
