The Role



As an Audit Senior Manager, you will oversee large or complex audit engagements, managing client relationships and providing strategic guidance on technical and regulatory matters. You will support the development of teams, contribute to business development, and ensure high-quality audits. Your role bridges operational delivery and leadership, driving firm-wide goals and client satisfaction.

Technical Skills



Act as leader on all engagement teams limiting director/partner input to focus on high risk areas of assignment Demonstrate ability to navigate complex technical issues arising on assignments, research, consult, conclude, and present to director/partner in complete form Utilising robust professional judgement throughout audit process to arrive at own conclusions on audit matters Proficient at reviewing detailed, and more complex, consolidation work (JVs/mid-year acquisitions etc) Proficient at designing audit approach for new, complex assignments involving specialist teams where appropriate Able to balance risk assessment against efficiency without compromising quality Be in control of entirety of service delivery to client relating to audit and associate matters Have a strong grasp of ethical implications and considerations concerning audit assignments and client services, taking prompt, pre-emptive action where necessary Be seen as a leader in department and service line matters spearheading initiatives for the wider team Take active role in internal and external file reviews - responding to challenge and queries professionally, implementing timely change where necessary and appropriate through sharing practise with wider team Demonstrates ability to manage and direct a large audit team on large and/or complex assignments often including other managers Clear focus on audit quality takes ownership/responsibility of communicating and monitoring quality within teams Facilitate and control group assignments under ISA600 ensuring where we act as group (or component auditor) that assignments are undertaken in accordance with ISAs o Confident in raising and discussing significant and/or complex audit findings with client management, working with them to reach a resolution Oversees and guides robust challenge of material risk areas that involve estimation or judgment, ensuring detailed documentation of challenges raised with management and stand back assessment of findings Actively engaged in using technical skills to support service line and office business development and growth targets, including cross selling and new label Build internal network to support other service lines with technical advice and gain better understanding of opportunities to work together for own clients

Analyses relevant industry, regulatory, and other external factors that are used to inform audit risk assessments to ensure key risks have been identified, appropriately responded to and are consistent with expectations Takes lead in ensuring Dayshape and resource planning for local department is up to date and maintained to a good standard, utilising the assistance of wider manager/senior pool and regional resource planners where appropriate and necessary Responsible for monitoring and managing economics on each job across portfolio, including: Being aware of the firm KPIs on all audit jobs ensuring individual job performance is within these KPIs Communicating process for managing budget and overruns within the team Ensuring that all time is booked to audit codes Identifying appropriate fee increases, scope changes, overruns and providing the partner with timely information to communicate and ensure with the client Debriefing with client and team to identify efficiencies and improvements going forward.
