Silverstone Business Consulting Ltd is a dynamic and rapidly growing firm of Accountants, established in 2022. Based in the heart of London's financial district, just a 5-minute walk from Moorgate Station, we specialise in providing comprehensive accounting, tax, and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients' businesses and entrepreneurs operating in the UK.
Our core services include bookkeeping, payroll, VAT, annual accounts, corporation tax and business advise. To meet the growing needs of our clients, we are now expanding our service offering to include statutory audit. We are looking for a qualified auditor with practicing certificate to lead this new, exciting arm of our practice.
The Role
This is a pivotal role for a qualified auditor to establish and lead the audit function within our firm. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality statutory audits for our clients who require them, while also having the opportunity to get involved in complex accounting and advisory work.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage statutory audits from planning to completion, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and ISAs.
Supervise and mentor junior members of the team, reviewing their work and supporting their professional development.
Prepare and review financial statements for companies and other entities.
Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, acting as a main point of contact.
Identify key audit risks and design effective audit procedures to address them.
Prepare reports for management and audit committees, highlighting findings and recommendations.
Contribute to the firm's business development activities by identifying opportunities for additional services.
Person Specification: Essential Skills & Experience
Qualified Auditor (AIA/ACCA or equivalent) with extensive UK audit experience. You must hold, or be eligible to obtain with our support, a valid AIA/ACCA or equivalent Practicing Certificate with audit.
Comprehensive and up-to-date technical knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 102, and ISAs.
Proven experience in leading external audits for a variety of clients.
Excellent client management and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong supervisory experience and a passion for developing junior staff.
Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple engagements and deadlines effectively.
