We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Cook to join our Indian culinary team. As a Pastry Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our offerings are not only delicious but also visually appealing, contributing to the overall dining experience.
Responsibilities
Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and standards.
Assist in the development of new dessert recipes and menu items, showcasing creativity and innovation.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pastry station, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock.
Ensure all food production meets quality standards for taste, presentation, and hygiene.
Participate in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff as needed.
Skills
Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant or similar culinary environment, with specific expertise in pastry preparation.
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations to maintain a safe kitchen environment.
Excellent baking skills with the ability to create a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts.
Familiarity with culinary techniques and equipment used in food production.
Attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately while also being creative in presentation.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills for effective collaboration within the kitchen team.
