We are a specialist Further Education setting for young people aged 19-25 with a diagnosis of autism and additional learning needs. Our mission is to help learners prepare for independent adulthood, develop employability skills, and build the confidence to lead healthy, fulfilling lives.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Autism Support Assistant to join our welcoming and highly skilled team. You will work closely with teachers, job coaches, and therapists to deliver personalised programmes that reflect each student's interests, goals, and Educational, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) outcomes.

Your Role



As an

Autism Support Assistant

, you will:

Provide

1:1 and small-group support

across vocational, academic, and enterprise sessions. Help students develop

work skills

, independence, and confidence through hands-on activities. Support learners in community-based

work placements

such as cafes, shops, museums, and other employers. Accompany students during off-site activities, helping them build

independent travel skills

and navigate real-world environments safely. Promote health, well-being, and emotional regulation, encouraging students to make positive choices. Assist with teaching Functional Skills (English, Maths, ICT) and other accredited Entry Level courses. Build positive, trusting relationships so learners feel safe, valued, and understood. Work collaboratively with teachers, job coaches, and the wider support team to track progress and celebrate achievements.

What We're Looking For



GCSEs (or equivalent) in

English and Maths

. Experience supporting autistic children, young people, or adults - or a strong interest in SEN. A calm, empathetic, patient approach with a genuine commitment to person-centred support. Confidence supporting learners both on-site and in the

community

. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Passion for helping young people build life skills, self-belief, and independence.
