Record UK is the UK subsidiary of the Agta-Record Group who is one of the major companies within the automatic pedestrian door systems industry. The group manufactures and distributes door systems to over 40 countries worldwide. We design, manufacture, supply, install and service automated door systems and aluminium shopfronts throughout the UK to a wide range of organisations and clients.
Due to continued growth and high demand for its services, the company is now seeking to recruit a suitable candidate to join the Engineering Team within our busy Service department based in Plymouth.
Reporting to the Regional Field Service Manager, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of a wide variety of automatic door types (including sliding, swing and folding door sets).
Your duties will include diagnosing faults, performing routine maintenance and safety inspections, and ensuring all repairs are completed to the highest standards within your designated geographical area.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and repair:
Performing routine maintenance and repairs on automatic doors to ensure they operate safely and efficiently
Customer interaction
: Communicating with customers to understand their needs and providing an excellent customer service.
Troubleshooting
: Diagnosing and resolving issues with automatic door systems.
Documentation
: Keeping accurate records of work performed, including EN16005 safety certificates and service reports.
Compliance
: Ensuring all work complies with relevant safety standards and regulations, including EN16005.
Training and development
: Participating in ongoing training to stay updated with the latest technologies and safety practices Essential Criteria:
Technical proficiency
: Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems related to automatic doors.

: Ability to fault find and resolve issues efficiently.

: Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with EN16605 safety regulations.
Driving License

: Working at various customer locations, which may include commercial, industrial and residential sites.

: Working closely with other engineers, planning coordinators and the field service manager to ensure smooth operations.
Qualification timeline:
Duration
: The apprenticeship/trainee program typically last between 18-24 months.
Training
: During this period, you will receive comprehensive training in maintenance, repair, fault finding and compliance with standards like EN16005.
Assessment
: Regular internal assessments will be conducted to ensure you are meeting the required competencies.
Certification
: Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship/trainee program, you will earn a level 2 NVQ, qualifying you to work as an automatic door engineer.
