Mechanical/Electronic Instrument Technician Required



Speedy Cables (London) Ltd is an independent small company located in South Wales employing around 20 people with a variety of professional, engineering, and craft skills engaged in the customisation and repair of instrumentation and the manufacture of custom mechanical control cables.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic candidate to work with a small team of engineers repairing automotive gauges. Basic skills will be a necessity but specific product knowledge and manufacturing skills, whilst an advantage, can be developed on the job for the person with the right skill set, attitude and enthusiasm.

KEY TASKS:

To fully assess and identify any faults and repair automotive instrumentation product/s according to product specifications and customer requirements. To assemble automotive instrumentation from kit form To ensure that the instrumentation product meets the quality standard of both the company and the customer. To ensure the resultant instrumentation product/s is quality checked technically, functionally and aesthetically before despatch in accordance with the company's quality standards and practices. To produce products as necessary in accordance with the production schedule in an efficient and competitive manner. Ensure that the workshop equipment, tools and machinery are appropriately maintained and fit for purpose.
USEFUL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

A hobbyist with interests in small scale engineering/ model making. Soldering skills. Knowledge of electronic componenets. Lathe and turning experience preferred. A person with an eye for detail. Ability to work to deadlines whilst maintaining good practice. Be familiar with the use of standard workshop tools and equipment. Basic numeracy and literacy are required. Able to keep records. Be self-motivated and able to work unsupervised. Retain a good housekeeping ethic. Be willing to improve existing and learn new skills Able to work and contribute in a team environment.
SALARY - dependent upon experience/ skills
HOURS 37 hours per week
Monday to Thursday - 7.15am to 5.00pm with hour lunch break and 2 rest breaks.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From 24,500.00 per year
