MacG Racing are a motorsport racing team, engineering company and performance parts supplier. We specialise in race car builds and preparation, engine builds and overhaul, supply, fitting and setup of race and performance car parts, suspension tuning and setup, vehicle restorations, as well as engineering services including design and analysis.

The Team also compete in various race series around the UK with our fleet of race cars, including the British Endurance Championship, racing competitors with cars from manufacturers such as Ferrari, McLaren, Aston Martin, Lamborghini and Porsche.

We are seeking a talented and self motivated technician with a high attention to detail, who is looking for an exciting new role. As part of our continued expansion, we are looking for a dynamic technician with experience of car builds and fabrication including MIG and TIG welding and fibreglass work, to work at our facility south of Derby near Donington Park in the Midlands, to work on customer projects of performance road, track and race vehicles, as well as our in house fleet of race cars and support vehicles and equipment. This role is predominantly workshop based at our Derbyshire facility.

A successful candidate will have expert knowledge of automotive principles and experience working in a garage or dealership, on mechanical and electronic aspects of vehicles, including items such as part fabrication. It is critical that the applicant has strong problem solving capabilities and is able to work autonomously in this role.

Responsibilities:

Overhaul of specialist vehicles, covering items such as chassis repairs/upgrades, engine/gearbox/powertrain removal, overhaul/rebuild and refitting. GM V8 engine rebuilds. Completing all or part of vehicle restoration projects Race car builds encompassing all aspects including chassis and bodywork repairs/upgrades, powertrain, wiring and other major systems. Complete suspension setup of performance road and track cars, including toe, camber, caster and corner weighting. Complete fitting and setup of upgrades such as suspension, differentials, gearboxes, exhaust systems etc. Diagnose problems by testing components using technical knowledge of automotive systems. Maintanence schedules and repairs on the in house race car fleet, equipment and support vehicles.
The succesful candidate must have:

An ability to work autonomously as well as being dynamic and self motivated. Strong technical knowledge of vehicles and vehicle systems. At least 8 years experience in a relevant technical role with hands on experience in the automotive industry. At least 8 years of experience of building or upgrading the mechanical aspects of vehicles. Passion for motorsport and understanding of different motorsport disciplines. Valid UK driving licence.
