Job Description
Astute are looking for an Auxiliary Plant Operator (APO) to join the Operations department of an Energy from Waste Power Station in Oxfordshire. As an APO, you will carry out operational activities within the boiler house and turbine hall and ensure this is carried out in a safe, professional, and timely manner in accordance with company policies.
Role and Responsibilities
As an Auxiliary Plant Operative, you will be responsible for:
- Monitor and conduct plant checks on the machinery within site to ensure optimum performance is always maintained.
- Carry out and ensure all work is conducted in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines and Safe System of Work
- Follow company procedures in reporting accidents, incidents and near misses.
- Assist in reaching the daily production targets as defined by site management.
- Have a proactive approach to the improvements of operational and safety efficiencies within site
- Assist with loading and unloading operations
- Operation of mobile plant and machinery
Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Understanding of process/factory machinery.
- Ability to use sensory skills to monitor the running of machinery.
- Previous experience working within a process, production, or manufacturing environment.
- A proven track record of high performance in a similar industry
- Ideally have a Forklift License
